Because the hair arrives ready-made rather than being braided strand by strand, the install is dramatically faster than almost any other protective style.

Keep the cornrow base clean and lightly oiled — it is easy to neglect the scalp under all that volume. Separate the crochet hair with your fingers rather than a comb to keep the curl pattern intact, and wrap or pineapple at night. Most sets look best for four to six weeks.
